Your parts are quite nice, but you can get some better price for the similar part, for the ram you can have a look at the
OCZ Platinum 4GB ( 2 x 2GB ) 800MHz DDR2 PC2-6400 $80
And the video card:
PNY Geforce 8800GT 512MB PCI Express Video card $233

Looks good.

I would change the dvd burner though. Get a Lite-On burner, sata, retail.

My only suggestion is go with this burner: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827106072 It comes with Nero software.

The rest of the list looks good.

Looks like a nice build. Personally I would go with the EVGA video card just because they seem to have the best track record. Generally I would recomend the Asus P5K board but have read good reveiws on that GIG board so you should be good to go.

You have a nice build there, you shouldn't have any problems putting it together.

The stock heatsink/fan that comes with the CPU works just fine for cooling unless you are planning on a serious OverClock. Also, if you use an aftermarket cooler you void the warranty on the CPU.

I'd also recomend you back to the EVGA card, their step up policy and LIFETIME warranties make the extra couple of dollars completely worth it IMHO...

Well, if By a "While" you mean your not buying in the next 30 days. I say your going to end up scrappiong a bunch of stuff and re-working your list when the new Procs come out. Not including the 9800 series GPUs,

=)

Everythings going to change in the next couple of months, so I noticed that all build lists that are being made should be Buy it now or wait it out situations... I am currently witing for the E8400 to come back into stock over at Newegg If it doesn't come back soon I will be waiting for the new procs...

If I were you, I'd check out the onboard sound first before buying a sound card to see if it's sufficient for your needs. There's also a HDD like yours that has a 32 MB cache. Also, I don't think you need such a high end power-supply.

This one from Corsair has excellent reviews, is cheaper, and should do you just fine.
