problem with new build "no signal" to monitor

Hi all,

I put together my new system from the ground up today (the 2nd system I have built), and I've run into some problems. When I turn the computer on, it sounds like everything is powering up (DVD drive works, hard drive appears to be working, all the fans are working including CPU, and there's a green LED light that turns on on the mobo).

Unfortunately nothing shows up on the monitor (it just says no signal). I've checked and double checked to make sure the RAM, Processor and Video card are all seated properly. I've tried disconnecting everything except the power, CPU/fan, RAM, and video card and it still has the same result: no signal.

I don't know if I have a faulty part, if I've just made a mistake during building, or if it's something else all together. Here are the parts I used, in the event that something doesn't work well together. I bought all of these from newegg.com so you can search and find more details on each part there:

System setup:

MOBO: Intel BOXD975XBX2KR LGA 775 Intel 975X ATX Intel Motherboard
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 Conroe 2.66GHz 4M shared L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor
RAM: G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory
VIDEO: MSI NX7300LE-TD128EH GeForce 7300LE 128MB 64-bit GDDR2 PCI Express x16 Video Card
CD/DVD: SAMSUNG Black 20X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 12X DVD+R DL 20X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 12X DVD-RAM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2MB Cache SATA 20X DVD±R DVD Burner
HD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3250410AS 250GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive
PS: Rosewill Stallion Series Dual Ball Bearing Fan RD500-2-DB ATX V2.2 500W Power Supply 115V/230V CSA, UL, TUV, FCC
CASE: COOLER MASTER Centurion 5 CAC-T05-UW Black Aluminum Bezel , SECC Chassis ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks for the help, everyone. I followed the instructions for powering up the mobo outside of the case and got the same result. Next I switched out my RAM with the known-to-be-working RAM from my Wife's computer, and it worked! Guess I need to RMA the RAM and get some more. :P

Did you test both sticks one at a time to see if it is jut one or both?

I tested both individually to make sure it wasn't just one of them, but I got the same result. My Wife's RAM is DDR2 667 mhz instead of 800 mhz, though I'm not sure that made any difference.

I don't think so, if I remember right if you use a higher speed of ram than supported by your mb it just clocks down to the speed that your mb supports.
