New Build for a new guy.

Guys I am completely new to this. I want to build a computer for gaming. Mainly WoW and EQ2 type stuff and want to be able to run at the high settings. This what I have managed to put together. I would actually like to ge the price down just because I am cheap. Anyway anyinput or suggestions would be very helpful.

Thanks
Matt

Few suggestions:

Change the HD to a 7200.11 model.

I would go with a Lite-on burner, they seem to have the best reputation. Have not heard anything bad about Asus so you might wait for a few more comments.

I would go for the basic P5K or he P5K-E if you need wireless. You probably dont need DDR 3 support on the MB. DDR3 is very expensive and provides very little advantage with the processors out today so doubt you would ever use it. The P5KC also seems to have more mixed reviews where the standard DDR2 P5K is rock solid.

Thermaltake PSU are on the good list, but I would tend to go for something really good so yuou might check out some of the bold brands and see if you can find a better deal. Check out the list below for quality PSUs

Generally I recommend moving up to the 3870 or 8800 Gt if you want a hard core gamer. But I play wow on an older 8800 GTS 320 with everything maxed and run 60+ FPS all the time so if you are only planning to play the games you list the 3850 should work out fine.

Is the Kingston memory ok? It is a good bit cheaper and I am trying to get the price down.

Thanks
Matt

That Thermaltake PSU has some weak rails. I'd upgrade to this Corsair instead: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139004

Kingston memory used to be good but has slipped of late. Corsair is the brand we recommend. Here is some: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145590

The P5K is a winning board, but don't buy it Open Box. You may or may not get everything included. Go with the regular Retail version.

Swap for this Seagate: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822148288 The ES version in your list is more expensive because its a server model.

Finally, here is the LiteOn: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827106072 Comes with software.
