Help? Just built, fans spin but screen stays in power save mode

Hi,

My initial build parts selection question is here: http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.p...highlight=P180

I've put everything together and my fans spin up (CPU, Vid card, and case fans) and everything lights up, but the screen on my 24" Dell 2407WFP stays in power save mode. I don't know what the deal is. I do not get any kind of beep on start up. Any ideas or suggestions? The lights on my keyboard and the red light on my optic mouse do not light up. I'm befuddled as all the connections seem correct. HELP?

You did connect a power cable to the video card right?

Make sure it's out of the case.

Also, did you try pushing either the input, or source button on your monitor to make sure it was digital?

Yep, it takes a 6 pin connector. I just disconnected the one I had, and re-connected a spare 6 pin connector to make sure. Same results. I'm wondering if the mouse not lighting up is an indicator. Could I have the front panel not wired correctly to the mobo? Even if I did though....wouldn't it still post? Hmm.....

AH!....I got it. I'm a freakin idiot...but I got it! The second power connector to the motherboard was not connected. I remember messing with it because it needs a very long cord get from the power supply to the motherboard. I must have unplugged it when I was messing with the fan controls and power connectors back there. Blah....what a relief. Hopefully its smooth from here (flashing BIOS installing OS). Thanks for the help guys. Its appreciated as always.

Would skip the BIOS up-date if it doesn't correct some problem that may occur with your list of parts.
