Looks good, only thing I suggest is getting that cpu from newegg even if it does cost a few more $$$. tigerdirect has poor customer service, and bad rma policy.. Might also look at the segate 7200.10 or .11 as they are more reliable and a better warranty..

Build looks great. For just a few dollars more you could get a bigger HD, the sweetspot (capacity/price) is up around 400-500 GB last time I checked. You dont need a floppy for much, but hey dont cost much either but thought I would throw that out. Niehter of my last two computers had a floppy.

Check this psu out: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139005

A little more power, for a few less bucks. Don't think it's modular though.

Get the new seagate HDD with 32 mb cache as opposed to 16 mb cache with the WD.

Newegg is out of E8400 processors, how long does it usually take to restock?

Thanks, switched. What is modular by the way?

It looks like only the HDDs with high GB(500+) have 32 mb cache. I don't think I need too much space, and I'm trying to keep the price down as much as possible without sacrificing quality. I would consider getting the Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 500 GB for $119 but the reviews seem to show that 1 in 4 are faulty. Is 32 mb worth it?

Thanks for the replies and help

It shouldn't take long for them to restock.

Modular is good for cable management. Just means you connect the amount of cables you need, and no extra.

And yes, 32mb is worth it. That's a good price for 500gb too. If the drive doesn't work when you get it, just rma it back to newegg for a new one. No big deal. If it goes bad after a few weeks, just rma it to seagate and they will send you another one. They have 5 year warrenties.

A side effect of modular cabling is the extra resistance induced by the added plugs. This can create heat and lower power supplied to components. But if you are running only modest parts and have a side window/like a neat case it can be better than non-modular.
