I am going with a case with a power supply because I plan on taking it ou and putting it in the computer I am replacing as a spare.

What do you think? Any adjustments you would recommend? Total price as is $1257 and I have a budget of $1400. Should I go with 4GB memory or should 2GB be sufficient for moderate gaming (WOW, crysis, Sims, etc.) Also I am going with vista because of DirectX 10. With many of the new games that will probably require it i might as well get it now. Also i don't plan on overclocking anything but should I get a CPU cooler/heatsink to be safe? Also will the mid tower be alrge enough or should I go full size?

Make sure the second dvd drive is a sata connection.

Also I would trust a power supply from a case by no means. You can give it to me for the Fourth of July though. Otherwise your list looks good.

Turtlefan, looks like a fine list, but CoolerMaster power supplies are merely ok. For the same price, this Corsair is a much higher quality unit: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139004

Thanks for all your suggestions. The second drive was not SATA thanks for pointing that out. As far as the PSU I really want to get a 600W unit. Averaging the load requirements from different calculators shows a needed power of 520-540W. So I want to get a little larger in case I add a couple PCI cards later. what do you think of OCZ StealthXStream OCZ600SXS ATX12V / EPS12V 600W Power Supply - Retail.

OCZ is a really good brand and that's a really good price. Like Alaron said I don't plan on using the PSU with the case on this build. My current PC (P4 630 @3 GHZ, Dell DM051 motherboard, 1GB DDR2 memory, Geforce 8400 GS, unknown brand 305W PSU) is lagging on power. I was planning on putting the PSU in the case with that setup as a backup PC.

Remember that load calculators always round everything to full load, which never happens. The Corsair units are very high quality and we have been recommending them in setups more heavily loaded then yours.

But that said, the OCZ would be a better choice in my opinion then a CoolerMaster.

I wouldn't bother with that Broadway PSU in another system either. They are really poor quality. Invest in a good unit for that Dell if you plan on keeping it around. It will be worth it.
