"Chassis Intruded" message
First time build, heres what i got:
Thermaltake Armor Series VA8003BWS full tower Thermaltake 500W PS Asus P5k-E Evga 8800gts G-skill 4gb RAM Western Digital 500gb HD Intel core 2 Quad Q6600 Cd rom and a dvd drive are off an old computer. Currently dont have a floppy drive installed, but might get one in the future. Ok, so i rigged this up, went through the initial boot and all that, went through the bios, and then i get into CMOS. But all the paths (A,B,C) were empty, so i just exited, saved the bios and rebooted. I stuck the vista cd in the drive, but then after i rebooted, i keep getting this "chassis intruded!" "Fatal Error - System Halted" message. The case does come with an intrusion switch, but iam not using it. On the mobo, there are the chassis alarm pins, but there covered with a jumper cap. I did try useing the intursion switch, but then i guess it didnt work, so i just stuck the cap back on. Now i dont know how to get this message to stop coming up every time i boot, and it wont let me get past it. Anybody know whats wrong? since i took the jumper cap off, do i have to reset the jumpers and clear the RTC, and go through bios all over again? Last edited by gtr; 02-19-2008 at 11:16 AM. |

In your first post you said you could get into bios.
If you can't get into it anymore, what I would do is power it off. Unplug the power cable, and then remove the mother board battery for about 5 minutes. That should reset everything. Then put the batter back in, plug the power cable in, and you should be able to access bios then.

If that doesn't work, power up the PC with the pins for the case intrusion switch shorted (look in the manual to find out which pins). That should allow you into the BIOS so you can disable the case intrusion feature.

Yea, it worked. I reset the battery, and then I had to go through the bios again. And i tryed finding the intrusion feature in bios but couldnt find it.
But I finished the build, installed windows and everything works fine. Thanks for your help guys. |
