New Build fails after ~ 3 minutes in friends house only

weird. New Build worked perfectly in my bud's house for ~ 1 month. Last night he called me to say that it just shut off by itself. sure enough, I go over, turn the pc on and ~ 3 minutes later it shuts off by itself. the green power light on th case is slow blinking. I can't turn the PC back on until I wait about 5 minutes and the slow blinking green light stops. then, the same scenario re-occurs. I bring the PC home and it does not fail whatsoever. This makes me think that he may have a power issue in his house. He lives is a newer "McMansion". I did have it connected to a UPS. It did fail while connected to the UPS AND it fails when connected directly to an outlet. Not sure what to think....or to say to my buddy! Should I try to replace the PS? Thanks.

If it works in your house, but not his, the only thing I would try is different outlets in his house.

Was his house hotter than yours? Could be temperature problem.

Look for a loose connection, move it may have made the connection work again. And if it's shutting off while connected to a know good UPS it's a computer problem not a house power problem.

I had a computer with a bad PSU and it would randomly work with different outlets until it finally quit. The ride to your house probably allowed the PSU to cool down enough to work. I think you have a failing PSU.
