Question An "anti-gamer" build??

Here's a little different twist -

This is a first-timer build that will be used for s/w dev, telecommuting, office, etc.
Looking for best bang for the buck, at around $600. Since I'd rather NOT have
my machine loaded up with my teenagers games and such, (they have their own
machines) it needs to be mildly repellent to the average game enthusiast, while
still having good performance to do java/web development, simulations, and so on.
Here's my list (all newegg item#s):

GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX All Solid Capacitor Intel Motherboard
Item #: N82E16813128059 $89.99

Thermaltake Purepower W0100RU ATX 12V 2.0 500W Power Supply
Item #: N82E16817153052 $59.99

Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3250410AS 250GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM
Item #: N82E16822148262 $69.99

EVGA 256-P2-N615-TX GeForce 7600GT 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 SLI Supported Video Card Item #: N82E16814130062 $84.99

Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 Allendale 2.2GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor Model BX80557E4500 Item #: N82E16819115031 $124.99

Logitech 967557-0403 Silver/Black USB + PS/2 RF Wireless Slim Cordless Desktop S 510 Mouse Included Item #: N82E16823126180 $42.99

GIGABYTE GH-PDU22-SC EVR Sleeve CPU Cooler - Retail
Item #: N82E16835128012 $19.99

SAMSUNG 20X DVD±R DVD Burner with LightScribe Black SATA Model SH-S203N - OEM
Item #: N82E16827151154 $33.99

COOLER MASTER Centurion 5 CAC-T05-UW Black Aluminum Bezel , SECC Chassis ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail
Item #: N82E16811119068 $49.99

1 G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-6400CL5D-2GBNQ - Retail
Item #: N82E16820231098 $44.99

Subtotal: $621.90

Will run with a Samsung 22" LCD. Suggestions? any rookie mistakes here?

A few things...don't get another CPU heatsink if you're getting the retail CPU. It comes with an approved heatsink/fan unit already. If you use a third party heatsink you'll void the 3 year warranty on the CPU.

Don't use Samsung drives...reliability issues.

Personally, I wouldn't use a Thermaltake power supply...just don't trust 'em.

The rest of the parts look fine.

Get the lite-on retail version of the burner it comes with nero burning software.. Thermaltake is ok for a basic machines, I do however use it on two gaming rigs and have no issues..

Bought LiteOn player/ recorder few months ago. It came with Nero 7 disc which would never load. Old Nero6 disc loaded just fine. Be careful.

If you want anti-gamer, get an Asus P5KPL-VM board and use the onboard video. (Tip: if you ever DO need a video card, it's got a PCI-Ex16 slot). Put it all in a Foxconn TS-001 case, the one with the Delta 350w power supply, not the one that claims to have a SPI. Take the money you saved and get a CPU with a faster FSB.

Here's some other parts to consider for a budget build...

Intel Pentium E2180
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc..._-NA-_-NA-_-NA
Still Dual core, just a little less powerful and less expensive.

Antec NSK4480 Case with 380W Power Supply
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc..._-NA-_-NA-_-NA
Should be sufficient for a budget build and around 80 bucks for a good looking case with a power supply from a reputable brand.

The Foxconn TS-001 is about the best case you can get for a build like this. glc recommended it to me and I have used over 30 of them so far and they are flawless.

Yep, but here's the story. It's been advertised as coming with a FSP/SPI 300 watt PSU. This is fine for an onboard video or entry level card build. The last one I bought came with a 300 watt CWT instead - not a very good unit. You can read my review on that at Newegg. They now have 2 different TS-001's - the second one advertises a Delta 350, a MUCH better unit. Get that one.

Thanks to all for inputs - had not thought about trading video for faster FSB, that brings down the "growth factor" on PSU, heat, etc. and gets better compute performance for the stuff I'm usually working on. Have been surprised in this process to see how much difference the case makes in peoples satisfaction with the results. Will checkout the recs.
Thanks again -

I normaly dump the ISO power supply and put in Sparkle 350s but I will keep an eye for ones with the Delta 350 in them so I don't have to pay for the Sparkles.
