Get this burner instead: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827106072 Or just a sata one.
Change that hard drive to a sata connection. Look at this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822148231 If money is tight, skip the sound card and use the onboard audio. Is the ram ddr2? And not sure that power supply will be enough for everything. Maybe someone else can confirm that.

Dont waste your money on the 10,000 rpm, drives get the segate 7200.11 with 16 or 32 mb Cache is just as fast as those 10k ones. Segate also offers a 5yr warranty on their drives and cost $$$ less than the others..

For quailty, budget PSUs, Sparkle or FSP. Also, Corsair,Enermax,Antec are other good choices.
For HDs, the one DoubleDragon mentioned is a good brand and model. The SCSI HD you orginally listed would require a SCSI PCI card to connect to the PC.

I hope you have a extra hd 18.4gb seems a little small these days, what are you primary use for this pc/ I would suggest on the low end at least 80gb For a few bucks more this 80 gb is better and has a lot more space then the one you linked to.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822148231 Like flanzig1 said you would need additonial hardware to hook up that hd anyway which would add any where from $30 to $100 extra from what I found on newegg.. Last edited by doubledragon5; 03-03-2008 at 09:27 PM. |

The RPMs of a hard drive isn't the major factor in the speed a hard drive can send/recieve data.
The type of transmission format: IDE/PATA verses SATA with SATA being faster and the type of technology used for reading and writing data to and from the platters: paralell verses perpindicular recording. The Seagate 7200.10 or.11 uses perpendicular which has faster reading time. |
