PSU:N82e16817182069
MB:N82E15813131025
CPU:N82E16819115018
HDD:N82E16822148261
Vid:N82E16814130318
Disc:N82E16827106073
Memory:N82E16820220227

I am also trying to figure out what CPU heatsink/fan I need to get with this build, any ideas?

Can't view the motherboard url.

Don't get the two 8600 in SLI. Not worth it. Just get a single 8800GT card and you'd be set.

Get a lite-on drive instead.

Do you need 4 gb of memory? If you do, you need a 64 bit OS. If not, then go with a 2 gb corsair xms2 ddr2-800 ram.

You don't need a 750 W PSU. Try looking at a corsair 520 W PSU.

Ok. A few things. First, your link to your mb isn't working.

Second, are you planning on overclocking? If not, get a retail processor and use that heatsink.

Things I would change: Get a better quality psu. Look here for a guide: http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=131195

Look at lite-on dvd burners. Get a sata, and retail so it comes with neero. I heard Samsung drives have some issues.

If you want 4gb of ram, get a 2x2gb pack instead of a 4x1gb pack.

And putting 2 8600's in sli isn't worth it. You'd be better off getting a 8800gt.

I have a few suggestions

Case - Should be fine
PSU - Too much for that system, you could get by with 500+ Watts. I would check out one of the Corsair modular PSU's
CORSAIR CMPSU-520HX ATX12V v2.2 and EPS12V 2.91 520W Power Supply - Retail
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139001

Can't see your MB choice

Buy the retail cpu, the OEM doesn't come with a heatsink. Good choice with that cpu though, I am excited to get mine

No No No with the hard drive. Get a 7200 RPM hard drive from seagate with at least 16 MB cache

No on the video card as well. It looks like you want to do SLI. I would get one better video card now and the run SLI in the future when the same video card comes down in price. Here is a link to the video card I just got
EVGA 512-P3-N801-AR GeForce 8800GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Retail
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130318

I would get the retail version of the dvd drive, comes with Nero burning software. People here also like Liteon more.

I would get 2 x 2GB sticks for memory so you could possibly upgrade to 8 GB for the future.
G.SKILL 4GB(2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231122

Ok, i altered the links again so they should be showing up right. I changed the disc drive, the memory, the video card, and corrected the mother board link. Hopefully this will help, and if you have any suggestions on what other processor i could use that is comparable please let me know.

I would still change that power supply.

And you didn't answer if you wre overclocking. If not, get the retail processor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115017

That mb uses older technology. Get the Asus P5K-E. If you need wifi, they have that version as well: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131225 or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131196

You can also look for the components on zipzoomfly. They were on average $10-$20 less expensive per component which I bought yesterday. I have many of the same parts as you have listed. I love newegg, but zipzoomfly is also a great company and if it saves you $100 and also saves you on shipping you have to look at other companies.

Change that Rosewill psu they are garbage, and when they die, they can take out your whole system..

Also, XP Pro or Vista won't recognize a total of 4 gb of ram on 32bit version?

Update that video card if it's a gaming machine. The 8600gt isn't going to play the newest games that great. Get the 8800gt instead for new games.

Also, if you get the retail version of that dvd burner, you will get nero with it. Only cost about $3 more too.

The rest looks good.

To fully recognize and make use of 4gb, you need a 64 bit operating system. A 32 bit operating system will only get complete use out of about 3-3.25gb.

You mean a 64 bit operating system. Do you really need 4 gb of ram?

Your motherboard is fine.

It is still worth getting the 4 gigs of RAM even though it will not all be used. All you need a 64-bit OS to use the full 4 GB.

By the way, you could probably get by with a cheaper power supply. However, I saw your side case is see through and that PSU I recommended is a modular power supply. That will make your case neater and save yourself a lot of time hiding cables.

Ah so a 64bit operating system does not have to have a 64 bit processor then? Or is it that this particular processor can handle a 64bit os? I don't have much familiarity with 64bit os' and processors.

I would get another DVD burner, for $30 it would be nice to have one burn and one lightscribe.

I would also look at the 32 mb cache hard drive

Yes, XP/Vista 64-Bit would work with the processor you mentioned, however I doubt you'll see much of a point in going with 64-Bit since most games and applications are written for 32-Bit, and some games and applications have trouble running on 64-bit.

Yes just use the fan and heatsink that comes with the processor. Unless you plan on overclocking, then look into an aftermarket heatsink & fan.

Most games and applications are written for 32 bit, so it depends on how much multi-tasking you plan on doing. Most 32-bit applications can use up to 2GB of RAM, so if you actually run multiple of these applications simultaneously, the ability to manage 4GB of physical RAM will make your multitasking experience smoother.

If looks are not that important to you I would go with the Antec Sonata case with the built in 500W power supply and you can save some money and get a very well built case. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811129024 Comes with a 5 year warranty.
As a matter of fact this case including the power supply cost the same as that Corsair power supply you listed.
