Troubleshooting New Build

I'm a first time builder and thought I did my homework...but now I can't get it to post. Gigabyte GA-MA69GM-S2H mobo, AMD 5600, 2 gb GSKILL F2-6400CL5D-2GBNQ, 5000GB HITACHI DESKSTAR, SAMSUNG SUPER WRITEMASTER DVD. Fans are running, DVD comes on, hard drive does not come on and nothing on the moniter. I've checked all my connections and moved the ram to different slots.

Any help on next steps would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to PCMech. You'll want to start with HAL's Troubleshooting Thread. You need to start with only the basics outside the case, and then go from there. Let us know what you find.

Thank you. I'm headed to Hal's list and will let you know what happens.

PSU is Ultra XVS 600watt.

Thanks for the help, I went through Hal's troubleshooting list and it was the PSU. Everything is up and running great now. Thanks again.

What psu did you finally get.. If your still using the Ultra you may want to look at this list. http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=131195 Ultra is not considered a good brand and in future if it starts to go it can take your whole system with it..

Thanks. I'm still using the Ultra, but I'll take your advice and replace with one from the list.
