please help me modify my computer

Hi so i had gotten back from the military with some extra cash and decided to indulge on my old addiction of MMORPGS. i went computer shopping with a tech savey friend of mine and he helped me pick out a somewhat decent computer that he told me i could modify into something good and relatively cheap. well soon after uncle sam called me up and i was gone for a little bit and now that i am back i am curious of what i should modify on my computer.

this is what i have
Compaq Presario SR5130NX-AMD Athalon 64x2 3800+, 200GB/1GB Ram/Nvidia GEforce 6150 SE

i was going to add this for ram as it was recomened for my computer by newegg
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145098

do i need a better graphics card?

please please help me with this that would be great.

The first thing you should do is upgrade your video card if you are going to game, upgrading ram will offer little to no performance increase, unless you're running Vista. Can you name which MMORPG(S) you'll be playing?

What kind of monitor are you using, a midrange video card should be fine if you're using a 17 inch or 19 inch monitor. Vista will receive some benefit from getting more ram, and 3GB is close to the highest amount supported on Vista 32-bit (standard version).

This video card should work fine for your system: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102700

I would also suggest buying the ram as well since vista uses up a lot of memory, and additional memory will help improve performance.

Let us know how it goes, hopefully everything will work out fine once installed, but if you have any problems with the installation, post back and we'll help you fix it up.

is the onboard, integrated, or the old drivers? old drivers are easy, go to control panel and open add/remove programs. find your old video card driver and click remove then reboot. if its integrated video then you need to go into CMOS and disable the onboard graphics. In mine I can select onboard, PCI, and PCIe.
