Did you buy it local or on a website?
This motherboard is probably out of warranty, manufacturers honor the warranty from date of manufacture not the day you bought it. I think Jetway has a 1 year warranty, this board was more than likely made over 2 years ago. I would send it back and get an Asus. I am having trouble finding Jeway US support. I know several people who own Jetway boards and they like them so I have not heard anything negative however the issue with support and warranty could be a big problem later. Here is the Socket 939 board I recommend if you not going with 2 video cards http://www.pacificgeek.com/product.a...4&ID=48589&P=F It should still be under the Asus 3 year warranty! |

Jetway boards are not the best quality. That could be the issue right there, but lets try a few other options first.
Try a different cable for the optical and hard drives. Try a different Windows XP disc, yours may be scratched or corrupted somehow. Try running Western Digital's diagnostic software on your hard drive. It might have issues as well. http://support.wdc.com/download/index.asp?swid=1
