Change the ram. Here is something good: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145590

Look at this HD instead (I don't feel the raptor is worth the increase in price): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822148144 But the best price per gb is probably the 7200.11 500gb drive.

Not sure about samsung dvd drives. Look at lite-on sata retail: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827106072

Get a better power supply. Look at this thread for ideas: http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=131195

Also, what operating system are you going to use?

What is your budget for this thing?

I am planning on using XP Pro for the OS.

I am looking to stay under $1,500.

Thanks for the options.

I wasn't thrilled about the Patriot memory or the Samsung DVD, but thought since I saw it in an article here I thought it might be worth looking into at least.

Ok,

How about I remove my Memory, UPS, DVD and HDD and replace with these

Memory http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16820145590
UPS http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16817371009
DVD http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16827106072
HDD http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822148144

Now I know this is exactly what you mentioned, but I do like those choices better for now.

Thanks.

That PSU is good, but it's a bit much for your uses.

Could try to save some money with a 650 unit, and that would still give you some head room to upgrade.

Somie ideas:
