For only a few bucks more you can get a 500Gb HD.
Also the Antec 900 is a nice case, but if you want it to be quieter consider the Sonata III. Otherwise yeah it does look good; solid build should last you for a while.

I'm not too familiar with A-Data. I'd maybe go for a more reputable brand, probably not much of a price difference if you check out corsair, crucial, mushkin, etc.

I haven't heard a lot about them, but what I have heard about A-Data has been good.

Right now ram is cheap so I would recommned getting something from a more "name brand" company. Like others I have just recently started seeing A-data mentioned more and more. Have not heard of anyting bad, so if it is a very good price it might be worth the risk, but if there is not a big savings I would tend to stick with Corsair. Crucial, Muskin, and OCZ have also been around for quite a while with pretty good ratings.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145590 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820146565 Also, should I wait to buy parts for any upcoming sales or should i just buy them now? Cause I would hate to buy it today and then have the price drop next week. |

I like the first one. The Corsair.
As for upcoming sales, you just never know. It's all a gamble with prices. |

Hey guys decided to make a few changes
I switched the case out for http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811129024 And I had not even reach my budget yet so I switched the processor to http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115017 I also changed the HDD to the 32mb cache version http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822148309 The total cost is 883$ with shipping =) Will the changes I've made still work well or is there something I need to change? |

that is a good case, but it does come with a very nice 500 w PSU, so you could probably do without the corsair. the corsair is really nice, but t he antec has good rating also and you dont need two.
the cpu is fine. quads are a bit more future proof and more software will start using them in the year to come. the HD you picked I think is for a server. the standard home PC 32 mb HD is the 7200.11. I am personally not sure why they are different, but in test I have seen I think they run a bit slower and can handle higher temperatures. I think it will still be compatable, just not sure if it will operate as fast. You might wait for others to post who know more about it. Kat |
