AMD Upgrade

I'm planning on making an upgrade to my AMD computer in the next few weeks (I'll be away for three weeks, but I don't expect any changes in price, and probably no changes in terms of new hardware that would be of use to me for the upgrade). I'm going to get a new PSU, Case, Motherboard and Processor/HSF/

Here is the current set-up:
Apevia X-QPACK Case
Apevia 450W PSU
Athlon X2 3800+ EE
Nforce 430 MSI Micro-Atx Motherboard
320GB Seagate
Benq 16X DVD+/-RW
ATI X1900GT
2GB OCZ Platinum DDR2-800

Here is what I was thinking of using for the upgrades:

NZXT Lexa Classic Series Aluminum Chassis
http://www.memoryexpress.com/Product...10654(ME).aspx

MSI K9A2 CF-F w/ DualDDR2 1066, 7.1 Audio, Gigabit Lan, PCI-E 2.0 CrossFire
http://www.memoryexpress.com/Product...19655(ME).aspx

AMD Phenom 9500 Quad-Core 2.2GHz w/ 4MB Cache (Retail Box)
http://www.memoryexpress.com/Product...19129(ME).aspx

OCZ 600W StealthXStream Power Supply w/ Quad +12V
http://www.memoryexpress.com/Product...17273(ME).aspx

I'll be using this setup for multi-tasking and gaming, I'll probably replace the video card sometime down the road, but I probably won't be doing any overclocking. Any problems or suggestions? I'm using the store MemoryExpress to buy the parts, their website is http://www.memoryexpress.com.

It looks good but the MSI motherboard is a no no, go with Asus or Abit if you want any kind of support.
MSI has no support at all, they do not respond to emails and if you call you get an answering machine and no one ever calls you back.
I have 6 MSI motherboards sitting here that I can't do anything with even though they are still under warranty and its been 4 months now. I am even considering taking legal action against them.

The old MSI motherboard I used worked flawlessly and was upgraded heavily without any problems, that being said, I handle my warranty through the computer store (warranty is for one year) and I haven't been able to find a 790X based motherboard for that price anywhere.

Right, have a OCZ PSU listed for the new build, I built this computer a long time before I joined PC Mech, and have only been able to upgrade it recently. One of the problems with the current build is that it only works with short PSUs because of the size of the case, and I haven't been able to find any PSU for that size and wattage.

Asus gives you a 3 year warranty and if the shop you buy from goes belly up you want to be able to get direct support from the manufacturer. Just food for thought. You definately don't want that kind of hardware attached to an Apevia PSU, maybe it is time to replace the case too, that's if it is within your current budgeting.

My list of upgrades includes a PSU, Case, Motherboard, CPU and HSF. Any comments or suggestions on anything other than the motherboard? I'll see if I can find a good well priced motherboard from Asus or Gigabyte, but I'm not against buying an MSI if it's the best choice in terms of price to performance and nothing comes close.

Just finished reading some more reviews on the MSI, I think I'll go for this Asus motherboard instead since it should give me less headaches when building: http://www.memoryexpress.com/Product...19486(ME).aspx

Would be great if newegg shipped to Canada, but unfortunately they don't, so I have to get my parts from local computer store or from NCIX. I'll need a good amount of PCI and PCIe slots, so a normal ATX board will be more useful and I don't really need integrated graphics (I'm going to use a video card; X1900GT for now). I already have 2GB of OCZ Platinum ram, and I'm not going 64-bit so I won't need anymore. Thanks for all the links, I'll take a look on newegg and see if I can find any of those parts at my local computer store. I may end up waiting for the B3 Phenoms and motherboard revisions using the SB700 or SB750.
