Angry Fire New Build Problems

First Build:

Intel Quad Core 2 Q6600 - Ge-Force 8600 PCI Express - Ga-EPC-DS3R M/B,Corsair PC6400 - 2GB,Cool Master 650W PSU, 500GB WD HD - SATA,
lite-On DVD DL Burn SATA, Asus DVD Rom SATA

On starting up every things seems fine - All Fans start etc. Also, I think I hear one beep then it restarts and restarts.I've checked and rechecked the CPU heat sink.

I've also disconnected all the devices and still the same.

Any help -- please!!!

First, please use standard size fonts. It's hard to read that font.

Now, first thing I would do is follow this: http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=132409 (Make sure you do it out of the case.)

Out of Case

Thanks again but still NG.

Followed the link instructions with M/B out of case. Same problem - rebooting in 3 - 4 seconds.

I'm wondering ( but don't think so ) if the M/B should be insolated from the case screws?

Doesn't look like thats the case. The Stand case offs rise above the case which keeps the MB from touching the case and shorting.

However, this is still not the problem with the rebooting as I tried it as above out of the case.

I'm going to re-apply the thermal grease again and reset the CPU and try out of the case one more time before I have to "Hit the Shop"

My 30 day parts replacement ends on 3/24/8 from Microcenter.

Any ideas???

If the heatsink is installed properly, then you need to try substituting parts.

(Did you put any extra thermal paste on the heatsink when you put it on the first time?)

I would probably see about changing the power supply first.

Is this your mb? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128082

Are you sure you have the memory in the correct slots?

Angry Fire New Build Rebooting

I believe the heat sink is on correctly. I've had it on and off a few times now. I just cleaned both the CPU and Heatsink and tried again, out of the case, but NG.

I did not apply extra thermal grease to the heat sink at any time. I do know that a few times I had the H/Sink off it did have extra grease on it which I left, but NG.

Yes, that's my MB. GA-EPC-DS3R

I just returned from Micro Center after speaking to one of their techs they agreed to "Test" my MB - CPU - PSU, etc..

They have a 30 day return police which expires on 3/24/8.

Thank you for your help
