Need Advice...
Greetings...
It's been a year or so since my last build, so I'm looking for some input on a couple components... Video cards (SLI)... 8800GTS (G92) or 9600GT OC... which is going to have more "horse power"? CPU heat sinks... Who is the KING of air cooling? This new build will have a quad core... CD-DVD burners... Is Plextor still on top? Who makes a really good Blu-Ray? 32 or 64 bit??? Vista... Thanks in advance! hagatha

9600 GT is a nice step up from the 8600 GT but still below the 8800 GT or GTS.
Heatsinks I have no idea, have to wait for an OC'ers opinion on that. Plextor is very nice. Most here still recommend Lite-on for price and value. You pay alot for Plextor name. IMO Blu-ray is still too new and expensive to waste time putting it in a computer so will have to wait for others to comment on that also. Depends on what software you are running. All things equal, 32 bit is still faster with most 32 bit software, but not by much. But, if your software will benefit from more than 3.5 gigs of ram (the main advantage of 64 bit) then 64 bit might be better. Also, if you actually have some 64 bit software then definately go 64 bit. It sounds like you are planning on OC'ing the system, with that in mind I would think you would see more benefits from more ram and the 64 bit OS might pay off. Kat

For heatsinks look at the Thermalright IFX-14 or the Ultra-120 extreme. The little cousin to that the Ultima 90 works very well too.
I agree with Kat on everything else.
