Gravity Problem
Hey PCMech,
I just built a computer. Antec nine hundred case, Asus P5N-D MoBo, Corsair HX620 watt PSU, Seagate Barracuda 7200 RPM 500GB SATA 3 Gb/s HDD, Intel Q6600 CPU, stock fan/heatsink. It only works when it's sideways. When I turn the tower upright, the computer turns on, and then off again. I'm wondering if anyone's had this problem before. Thanks in advance for any help! |

Something is probably loose, or shorting out. Check the standoff, and make sure everything is installed tightly.

Try disconnecting the wires to the PWR ON pins on the front panel header. If the problem goes away, you may have a defective power button switch.
If that doesn't solve the problem, pull the motherboard from the case and make sure there isn't any loose screws or bolts rattling around and make sure you only have the right amount of standoffs installed in the motherboard mounting tray. Make sure all power connections are tight. Cricket
