CRASH Major error

If you don't need all of the details, skip ahead to the allcaps, "WHERE THE MAIN PROBLEM STARTS"

Here's my problem: I've just built a PC, Corsair HX620W PSU, Asus P5N-D MoBo, Palit 8800 GT graphics. I installed windows XP, it worked at first. I figured, "Okay, my new computer is working fine!" and started installing drivers that came with my hardware. So, I installed the drivers for my graphics card. Okay, working. Next, the drivers for my MoBo. I install the network adapter driver, then it has to restart, that's fine. It shuts down, and once it comes back, BSOD (IRQL not less than or equal, something about nvgts.sys). reboot. Again, BSOD. So, I put in my windows disk, run setup, and do a repair... It starts reinstalling, and asks for my MoBo drivers CD, so I put it in. It starts installing the drivers. I wait literally 3 hours, go back to check on it, and it's still where it was at the beginning. So I press cancel, and it says "finishing installation on last driver". I wait 20 minutes, and it doesn't finish, so I press exit on the MoBo driver install window. I proceed with installing windows, everything goes fine. So after this installation, I figure my drivers are all already in, I start downloading some stuff... Downloaded Avast! Home, installed that. It worked right away. Then, I get Zone Alarm Basic firewall. I start the install, then when it gets me to reboot, I do. The computer BSOD's me several times (same error), so I put in my XP disk again. Except this time, I chose install instead of repair. THIS IS WHERE THE MAIN PROBLEM STARTS. The drive formats, the first part of the install goes smoothly. It reboots, and says it'll continue after reboot. So, after the reboot's finished, it's showing a screen with a flashing _ at the top left. this stays for about 30 seconds, and then It quickly flashes some screen that tells me to select something (The choices were Windows XP home and Windows XP home). The screen automatically passes, and then a screen that says something along the lines of "could not boot from disc. Windows could not find the boot disc. make sure your hardware is configured correctly."or something. So I pressed enter, it restarted, same error. I swap out XP disc for my MoBo disc with FreeDos on it. So I boot FreeDos and try to Format C:, to start over, but it can't. Somehow it just won't format C:. So now my computer is stuck at try to install windows and fail, or don't try to install windows. Can someone please help me with this problem?

In case you're wondering about the CD drive, Here it is

Run the manufacturers diagnostic software for your HDD. It can be downloaded from the website and then the iso burnt to a CD and then booted from. Make sure you use Nero or another program that can burn the contents of an iso to disc, you can't just put the iso on the CD.

Did you ever figure out why the computer would only run while lying on it's side?

Is the motherboard in or out of the case right now?

Those IRQL BSODs generally point to RAM problems...you might want to test each stick individually with Memtest86+.

Can you please post the complete list of parts for this computer. We need to know exactly what you're dealing with here. List all the parts by brand, model and the exact speed of the RAM you're using.

Alright, I got the MoBo in the case... I haven't tested the side thing, but I haven't changed anything on that front yet so I'm not exactly sure.

So, I figured I'd try some stuff, and I set my boot order to CDROM first. I put in the XP CDROM and now I'm doing a full format of C:. I think after I install windows this time, it may work. At least, I'm hoping. please pardon my double post.

UPDATE! Thread closed, problem solved! Thanks for the support!
