Would like advice for my first time build.

Hello I'm currently planning to build a computer for my first time. I wanted to know if theres a flaw or something you would recommend please. I don't know THAT much about computers which leads me to think of making a crucial mistake in this build. This is a budget PC for now but I plan on upgrading turning it into a high end PC later on. I would like to stay below $900. I plan on using this for strictly gaming. Games in mind are World of warcraft, Call of duty 4,Crysis,FEAR,HL2 and the battlefield games are the games I can name off the top of my head. A monitor isn't included because I will be using my old one I have now.

Pretty good list. Would suggest a couple of changes: go for a Seagate 7200.11 series for the HD; they have a 32meg cache and 5 yr warranty. The other is is go with a better PSU, one of the Corsairs in the 500w range would be a safer bet.

I would spend a bit more on the video card for the games you list. Would work for WOW but FPS like crysis would require pretty low settings. I would suggest an 8800 GT or higher. the new 9600 GT might make it, have not really seen where it ranks. Check out this review:

Edit: Agree with Flanzig about the PSU, check out the Corsair 550 at newegg, it was on sell for a very nice price last week. I like the new 32 mb drives but if you really dont need 500 GB the 16 mb drives still perform quite nicely, the 5 year warranty with Seagate is best in industry but WD is also a very good quality brand.

Unless you are totaly against ATI this card here http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102719 for the money seriously owns gaming. I just built a machine for my brother with one of these and he is playing Crysis in full mode.

I have the same 8600GT model you are looking at and I like it. I am using it running Age of Conan on default settings without any problems what-so-ever. I don't know the fps it is running, but it runs smooth without any glitches. I've had it for about a year now. But if you do have a bit more money, I would go for 8800GT or better. I am looking at this one right now and it looks good: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130334
