Building a computer for Age of Conan

First off I don't know everything about computers so please help and don't flame me Secondly I want to tell you when I'm running now.

-I built this in Dec '05.

CPU- Intel Pentium D 830
GPU- NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GT x2
Mobo- ASUS P5ND2-SLI DELUXE
RAM- 4gigs of dual channel ddr2 crucial memory running at 333.3MHz

This runs AoC Beta very poorly, I lag a little bit outside of the cities and when I go in the cities the sh!t hits the fan.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here is what I have so far for a new computer.

CPU- AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+ Windsor 3.2GHz 2 x 1MB L2 Cache Socket AM2 125W Dual-Core Processor
GPU- EVGA 512-P2-N775-AR GeForce 8600GTS 512MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP
Mobo- ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe AM2 NVIDIA nForce 570 SLI
RAM- CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel (I would get 4gigs of this)

I already have an OS and Hard Drives.

I don't have an unlimited money supply so please keep this in mind, I'm up for any suggestions so please let me know. I just want to be able to run AoC with no problems when it comes out. Thanks for your help.

P.S.-I'm also looking for a great computer case that keeps very cool since I've had some overheating issues.

Intel are top at the minute really on the performance side of things.. an E8200 and any of the P5K series would be a good choice.

Don't buy 4x1GB as 2x2GB would be better, but that RAM is great. If you can afford an 8800GT it would be better for your gaming, but if your on budget, take a look at the 9600GT.

If your OS is OEM you might have problems trying to install it again, and are your DVD/Hard Drives SATA?
