I just finnished rebuilding my PC with a new mobo, RAM and CPU. You can check my sig for a list of components in my box. Like I said, I only added a new mobo, RAM and CPU with the other components being 1 or 2 years old.
After I finished the build, I left the computer on overnight to download some driver files and update Everquest 2. In the morning, everything seemed fine. The computer had been on all night and had completed all tasks. I next ran 3D mark 2001 like I do everytime I build a new machine, and still no issues. I then started up EQ2, and BAM! The computer shut down without even going through the opening splash screens. I was able to reboot the computer and I went into the BIOS and watched the CPU temp for a while. It started at 33C and toped out at 40C. I updated my mobo drivers and cranked up the fan in my PSU and still, the computer seems to run fine until I try to start a 3D app and the machine shuts off before even going through the opening screens. I've tried running EQ2 and 3D mark '03. Here is what I'm wondering. The mobo RAM voltage is set to 1.8V and I hadn't noticed my RAM voltage is 2.1V. Could this be causing the shutdown? Or maybe the 480W PSU isn't enough for the video card and dual core proc? I had no problems running this video card with this PSU when my box had a single-core Athlon 64 3800+ and 1.5 GB of Corsair value-select RAM. Any ideas and suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The voltage could very well be the issue. Try going into your BIOS and manually setting the RAM voltage to 2.1V.
Your power supply should be ok for your setup.

Thanks for the suggestion. I checked the memory voltage in the BIOS, but it looked like it could only be decreased, not increased. I'm going to check again tonight. I'm also pretty sure my parent's computer uses 1.8V DDR2 memory, so I may borrow their RAM and try it in my computer and see what happens.
