Only getting DOS boot sequence
So the issue started as the laptop logging off/ shutting down during some web functions.
issue escalated to now the Laptop will not get past the first Windows screen. Instead of ever getting to Control/Alt/Delete screen, auto shuts off and auto restarts to the DOS boot screen. This loops. Checked Battery by removing the battery and forcing wall power. Swapped memory. Boot drive was recently changed (less than 1 year). Ideas? Windows XP Pro, Intel P4, 2.66, 512MB |

Does the BIOS have any temperature monitoring functions?

I did blow out and clean the fans when the symptons were milder. A tempertaure gadge is not obvious in BIOS, but I may not know where to look.
Wouldn't the machine have to get hot first for temperature to be an issue? Problem is constant and happens even when powered down overnight. Thanks Jerry |
