Power Supply

Hi, I would like to ask what minimum W Power Supply I would need for my computer which I am going to build soon:
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400
2x2GB DDR3 RAM
GeForce 9800 GX2
nForce 790i Ultra motherboard
and DvD Rom, small HD

and what minimum should I have if I want to do Quad SLi (2x 9800 gx2)

Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks

I'd say you want to be looking at at least a 550w power supply for one of those cards. For any SLI, check out nVidia's certified list.

http://www.slizone.com/object/slizone_build_psu.html

Unsurprisingly for Quad SLI, you'll need at LEAST a 1000w unit, see the dropdown list. Corsair would be a good choice for either unit.

Just make sure you stick with a reputable manufacturer on the PSU. PC Power & Cooling has a great reputation, for example.

Edit* lespaul, good call. LOL, I don't know where i got that number.

Max Board Power 197 Watts
That's for 1 card, the 500w is for 2 combined.

Do you have a source for that? Thats seem awful high for a single video card even if it's x2.

Yes and that is at full throttle, rarely do video cards of this class get fully throttled.
I always like to be safe and go 100 watts over required for longevity.
