Seen Before
I am not sure what caused it but I have seen this before. Check the cables (esp the pwr supply to MB), and try removing any video card temporarily to make sure the BIOS onboard video isn't interfering. Reset the BIOS if necessary. I know that when I did some of those things I resolved the issue in the past. Worst case, is you have to remove all the components down to CPU and memory then make sure you can access the BIOS, then add the components back one by one until you have it working, or you can reproduce the issue and know what to focus on.
Good luck. Quote:

Take the motherboard out of the case and place it on a non-cunductive surface like a dry cardboard box. Connect the PSU and install some RAM and the CPU and try to boot up by touching the two PWR-SW pins (where the power button goes) on the motherboard with a screwdriver. This will eliminate shorting as the problem.

BIOS Reset

Also, have you tried swapping around the memory modules? It is possible that one went bad, and if the bad area is in the low memory area it could lead to unpredictable results. Swapping modules would change the addressing. If you have other parts to trade in and out, you can also verify each component. HTH |
