Newbie First PC Build

Alright I came here earlier last month with a few question and disappeared. I'm back with a build I've compiled that may or may not be great. The Budget which I have established is below $1000 and this one is like 800 or so.

It's a build for a comp somewhere a little above mid range I guess. Not really sure though.

Abit IP35 Pro LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX

Cpu:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ Brisbane 2.3 GHZ x 512 KB L2 Cache Socket AM2 65W Dual Core Processor

Memory:
G.Skill 2 GB 240- Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory

GPU:
eVGA e-GeForce FX 5700 Ultra

Hard Drive:
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250GB 35"SATA 3.0 GB/s Hardrive (OEM)

Case:
Kingwin KT - 424 - BK- WM

PSU:
Apivia ATX-CW500 WP4 ATX500W Power Supply 115/230

You have an intel mother board but a amd cpu. That won't work. Which would you prefer?

Get a better quality power supply. Apevia units are trash.

Don't for get a dvd drive either.

I'll be getting most of them from newegg and 1 or 2 from somewhere else. I already have a DVD drive so that's not a problem. I didn't notice that I had put down an Intel MB though, it must have slipped my mind <_<.

What kind of computer do you need, one for internet, for gaming, or good overall? You are going to have serious issues with the performance of those parts for a budget of $800 (which can get you a fast gaming system if that's what you're looking for), you are also missing the OS.

Wow....well that works. I'll see if it's possible to get a hold of everything. Oh and the reason why I didn't include the OS was because I already have a Microsoft XP Home disc (actually about 3)

If you already have the OS, then I would suggest getting the case you wanted originally instead of the one I recommended and buy as separate PSU (take a look at this thread for help regarding PSU: http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=131195, you'll need 500W and you should get a PSU on the good list).
