How Heavy is Too Heavy for a CPU Cooler?
I'm looking to replace my MoBo soon (in my sig), perhaps to an ASUS P5E LGA 775 Intel X38. I also want to get a new CPU cooler, something that might be smaller and lighter than the Thermaltake Big Typhoon that I have now. I've heard that some of these huge coolers can eventually put too much stress on a Motherboard. Is this true?
I've seen good things mentioned here about Thermalright & Scythe but their selection of CPU coolers is very confusing. Seems like there's too many models.  I'm happy with the perforrmance of the Big Typhoon. I DON"T like it's size, weight, and an adhesive strip for a backplate. All other parts, except for RAM of course, will be installed on the P5E. And I'll be using the same CM Case. Does the weight of a CPU cooler really matter? Or should I just concern myself with height and ease of installation? And could I get some specific recomendations too please?  Thanks in advance

The weight of the heatsink comes into play if the computer gets moved alot. I start getting concerned by the weight if the heatsink starts getting in to the 600 grams and up.
If not OCing, the stock fan works good or the Artic Cooling Freezer 7 is quiet and a good cooler.

If you're not going to oc, then stick with the stock cooler.
If you want a smaller, yet really good cooler, look at the ThermalRight Ultima-90. I have that one and can't say enough good about it.
