quick question, installing video cards

so I hate installing drivers (I always have bad luck for some reason)..

but are there any video cards that are considered "plug and play"? from a motherboard without integrated video.

thanks!

You can't really avoid driver installations. The generic Windows driver is not going to enable everything on your card. The process is simple really. Just download the drivers from ATI or Nvidia.com and install them after the card is in place. We can help fix any issues you encounter.

The good news is the windows drivers will kick in and allow you to use the monitor, it will just not be that great a picture and wont take advantage of your video card features. It will allow you to get to the right place and get the drivers insalled.

Okay cool. Once I've installed the driver, do I have to do it ever again? (for example if I switched video cards, and then back). I asked a similar question on a different forum, but that was for pci xpress.
Thanks!

well, it is best to remove drivers that are not being used. and you would need the drivers for the new card. I think you pretty much have to remove the old to get the new recognized. Why would you change and change back?
