My question is will my mobo recognize the HD. I have read the sticky about SATA HD but not sure my question was answered...here is my components...

MEM 1Gx2|G.SK F2-6400CL5D-2GBNQ

VGA XFX PVT84JUDD3 8600GT 256MB

DVD BURN LITE-ON|LH-20A1L-06 LS RT

ENERMAX Noisetaker II EG495P-VE ATX12V 485W Power Supply 115/ 230 V

KB&MS MS|BLK COMFORT CURVE OEM

CASE COOLERMAS|CAC-T05-UW BLK

Windows XP home

just waiting on case and memory to get this started. (forgot the memory on the first order)

Thanks in advance

Tim

No, you didn't miss it..I forgot to list it...here it is.

ENERMAX Noisetaker II EG495P-VE ATX12V 485W Power Supply 115/ 230 V. I'll be taking it out of my old setup.

Thanks for pointing that out. I edited my original post.

to your first question, with SATA there is no reason to set jumpers or mess with master or slave, for a single HD installation when you boot up it will just recognize it.

For your build, everything looks compatable. If it is not, try to get the burner SATA also. IDE will work, but SATA is the future.

Katreat, you're saying that Mobo will recognize the HD without manually installing the drivers by a floppy?

Also the burner is SATA...just took it out of the box.

ok, I have everything installed and running, only I cannot get the SATA drivers loaded. The mobo will not recognize my HD. I have the SATA AHCI enabled through the bios but no go.

I am having trouble finding the drivers to install by floppy. Anyone know anything about this>
