Currently a Q9300 at 2.5ghz outperforms a fully overclocked 9850 at 3.0ghz in some benches. Plus the Q9300 will still clock lot's higher.
But, you're fine unless you are planning to overclock? If your not you also don't need that fast of ram as DDR2800 will be fine. Everything else looks fine except you will need some artic silver for that new heatsink. |

AMD is my prefrence dispite what the facts are with intel. i just always have had better luck with AMD. I do plan to overclock some but not alot thats why i went with the DDR21066.
I also have some AS5 for the heatsink, just forgot to mention it. ![]() think the PSU is enough to overclock some as well? |

Looks like a pretty solid list, you should have no problems with overclocking with that power supply (I'm using the Neopower HE 550W for my overclocked rig and have no problems, probably using more power than your rig even when overclocked). Can you update the link to the video card? The current link shows as a deactivated item, if the price is above $250, you might want to take a look at the 9800GTX since it's under $300 and will provide a roughly 20% increase in performance to even a overclocked 8800GTS 512MB.

Glad to hear it all sounds good.
Newegg stopped carrying that video card from what i can tell but i got it at a discounted price and it was the right price. Maybe in a few months ill upgrade to the 98xx series. |
