Getting a laptop

For college I plan on getting a relatively cheap laptop as well as a nice desktop. I've been looking at this one for a while, and now since it has a $384 price reduction I'm thinking of buying it soon. These are the specs I configured it with:
Quote:
SYSTEM COLOR Jet Black
PROCESSOR Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T5550 (1.83GHz/667Mhz FSB/2MB cache)
OPERATING SYSTEM Genuine Windows Vista ® Home Premium Edition
HD DISPLAY High Resolution, glossy widescreen 15.4 inch display (1440x900)
VIDEO CARD Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X310
MEMORY 3GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 at 667MHz
HARD DRIVE Size: 250GB SATA Hard Drive (5400RPM)
INTERNAL OPTICAL DRIVE CD / DVD Writer (DVD+/-RW Drive)
WIRELESS NETWORK CARDS Dell Wireless 1395 802.11g Mini-Card
INTEGRATED WEBCAM Integrated 2.0M Pixel Webcam
BATTERY OPTIONS 56 Whr Lithium Ion Battery (6 cell)
SOUND OPTIONS High Definition Audio 2.0
The price, with the special deal that lasts until mother's day, is $724 + whatever shipping is. I compared it with a few you can buy from newegg and it comes out to be quite a bit cheaper in comparison of all it's specifications. Any thoughts? Things I should upgrade that I didn't?

What are you planning to use it for?

In general just simple stuff.. Microsoft Word, internet browsing, Skype, music... I might play some Warcraft III on it until I get my desktop.

Those specs should handle all that fine. The Intel GMA will handle WC3 fine, but you might want to upgrade to a dedicated card just in case you want to play something else on it.

Ok, that's nice to know. I don't think I'll go for an extra card 'cause my desktop will be what I use for games for the most part.

Is the $50 upgrade from a duo 1.73 to a duo 1.83 worth it? It also changes 533mhz to 667mhz and from a 1mb cache to a 2mb cache...

That would be a considerable increase in speed, if you can spare it, go for it.
