first build for working with graphics! need help!

hi!
i'm going to build a computer for graphic designer! have couple questions!?
background info:
1) she works with photo shop, illustrator, and video editors!
2) don't have allot of money but still advise for the best i will choose something that she can afford.
questions:
1) can i buy laptop for user who works with graphics for a reasonable price! or should i go for a desktop!?
2) should i buy a mac if yes why cause i don't know any thing about mac?
3) if a pc is good enough tell me what is better for graphics intel or amd! and in which parts i need to invest most!

Get a desktop. I don't know any graphic designer who use a laptop for work.

I would seriously consider getting the best Mac she can afford. Almost every graphic designer I know uses a Mac. But high end Macs (Mac Pro) are not what I consider affordable.

A PC can be used for graphics work if it's configured properly. I would go with Intel. For design work you want a very powerful processor, a very large hard drive (or two), lots of RAM, a video card designed with graphics work in mind (Nvidia Quadro or ATi FireGL or FireMV) and support for at least 2 monitors.

thank you very much for your help can you tell me why mac is better cause i dont know any thing about mac's and when i looked it up mac's are based on intel processes and hardware is the samelike in pc! so why mac is better becouse the OS and software???

and can you be more spesific in the configs of the pc i should buy? (like whick processor i should buy and which nvidia quadro there is alot of them )
