Build looks good. Have not really looked closely at the SE but make sure it has the features you want. Most recommend going with the P5K-E which has some nice features but you will pay more. Not sure the performance gain going from a 8800 GTS 512 to a 9800 GTX is worth the price but if it fits the budget it is faster.

Nice build.

Only thing you might want to get a 7200.11 series hard drive instead. The hard drive you choose is supposed to be more for servers.

Looks like a good build... I assume you've either been doing research or have built before. If you end up going with a more expensive mobo you might make some of that up by switching CPU to an E8400 3.0GHz Wolfdale. A lot of people I've seen comment in this forum seem to really like/recommend that chip.

That being said, I've got a Q9300 in my build and (when paired w/ 2x 9600GT) it's kicking the snot out of everything except for Crysis...and even then I'm getting 35+ FPS on high settings.

Oh yeah... when your friend buys a monitor locally, I'd recommend a Samsung LCD monitor. I have a 216BW and it's fantastic... should also be within your budget.
