New Build Bios settings

system:

Intel E8400
Gigabyte P35 DS3L
8800 512MB GTS
Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C5DHX
500g Western Digital HD
Scyte Mugen heatsink
Sony DVD-R

What do I need to do for my BIOS settings?
Adjustments to voltage, ram voltage, etc?

My cpu frequency is showing up as 2.4ghz and i believe it's a 3.0ghz chip.

My MOBO book advises me to change my "CPU Host Frequency" to 300 to accommodate the 1333mhz FSB of my processor. But there aren't a lot of other suggestions or direction for the other settings.

I also get a disk boot failure, but I'll tackle that after I get these BIOS settings in place
so I have a stable system.

Nothing should need to be adjusted, auto will work fine. Are you getting the 2400MHz reading from within Windows or from the BIOS? If you do need to adjust the FSB, the correct setting is 333MHz. But the motherboard should automatically select FSB1333, especially since it is a P35 chipset.

Those readings are in the BIOS.

I haven't booted Windows, yet.

have you updated bios because the most of the DS3L and mine came with F7 bios but you should do a bios flast to F8a or higher to get the full 45nm support.

With my RAM and Processor everything was read correctly so i didnt have to change any thing under that menu.

Since i had a 4 pin fan on my CPU heatsink i did need to change the Fan setting from AUTO to PWM.

For that CPU you will need to make sure that the FSB is at 333 and the multiplier is at 9.
