help new member

hello just wondering i someone can help me. i have just got a computer from a friend with no hard drive, so i put a new hard drive in the computer and tried to start the computer, i am trying to load windows xp when i did this i get a message saying ( disk boot failure insert system disk and press enter ) now i don't have a system disk for this computer, so my question is how can i load windows with out the system disk

You need to go into BIOS and select the CD drive as your first boot device, and then just place the XP disc in the drive. It should boot from there, and you'll be able to install at that point hopefully.
