for software, my dad has a set for new computers at his office so he's just going to give me that (including OS!)
any advice with better deals, things that aren't worth it, or things that i missed are appreciated!

What kind of sound system are you looking at / using? On-board may be more than enough.

Everything else looks pretty good.

If you aren't planning to overclock, just get the Retail processor that comes with a heatsink/fan. Keep in mind that OEM chips lose the 3yr warranty.

I'd swap that LiteOn Burner for one that comes with software.

Finally, and this is the most important, keep that case if you like it but change the power supply. NZXT units are low quality. We like Corsair units: http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applicatio...corsair%20550w

i don't think i need anything amazing for sound so i guess i'll just get that mobo...

my friend told me to get a 600W psu...the corsair one looks nice, so it's high enough for my system?

for the burner, by software, you mean something like nero?
cause i already have nero

i think i'll try some overclocking later on
so i won't get the retail

(wow, people answer quickly here! lol)

That power supply would be fine for your system. For another $10, you can bump up to the 650w version.

If you have the full retail Nero package, the drive in your link would be fine. If your Nero came bundled with another drive, you might not be able to use it with a new drive.
