Creating a Recovery Partition Similar to HP

I have been wanting to find a way to create a recovery partion similar to an HP style of recovery partition. One in which you can boot from the bios loading screen if need be. I know about Norton Ghost and Partition Magic, those would seem to work fine but then I still have to keep hold of a recovery disk.

I have used the recovery partition on my HP laptop and it worked so exceptionally that I have decided I would love to create a partion similar to it on my desktop pc.

So, does anyone know of a program that would offer the functionality that I have in mind?
