Looks like a solid gaming build. But...you're not a gamer. If you really never play (and don't plan on playing) any graphics intensive games, you could step down the GPU alot (although the value on that card is fantastic).
Only thing I'd say is I would just get 2x2GB RAM (G.SKILL or Corsair). Not exactly sure what setup you are planning on (your RAM link is wrong, linked to your GPU) but it may be both faster and less expensive. |

fixed link, thanks.
i think it's the same thing, but 3x1gb rather than 2x2gb. i thought the 32bit only recognized 3gb memory..?? plus, i'm not a gamer, but used to be. i would like a bit of power just in case, lol. i do some photo editing and video back ups (allegedeley) and stuff. plus the 32"hdtv as a monitor if that makes a diff. |

it'll recognize a bit more than 3gb, and having it all in dual channel should speed it up a bit. I was asking a similar question in my thread, wondering about the advantages of 2x2gb vs 2x512mb+2x1gb vs 4x1gb on a 32 bit OS.

Everything else looks good. You shouldn't need anything else either. Just make sure you have an OS disc. You might also be able to save a few dollars by only getting one dvd drive. And if you're using your old hard drive, you could save by not getting the new one.

Unless you're going to overclock, get the corsair: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145184

That PSU is good.
As for Vista, most people go with Home Premium. Most notably, Home Basic is missing Windows Aero. The OEM version is fine though. Also, do you want 32- or 64-bit? Just checking. |

Looks like a good build, a bit of overkill for a non gamer, but it will be fast.
The larger PSU is a good choice. Your MB supports Crossfire and with a 32 " monitor you might (depending on application and monitor quality) see substatial benefits to a duel card system at some future date. If that possiblity is in the cards you should check to see PSU requirements for duel 4850's. I know that SLI really shines on monitors over 24" and assume crossfire does also, but not sure how much that would help on an HDTV screen. Kat
