Not a bad start.
I would change a few things. First being the memory. That's overkill. Try this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145184 Hard Drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822148262 Vista: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16832116488 Dvd Burner: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827106072 And you don't need a heatsink with a retail processor.

Though if you just HAVE to have an after market heat sink, get this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835186134 My E8400 idles at 40C at I think 10% fan speed. Good cooler. Anyway, for a video card, if you want to save some money and increase performance a little, get an ATI Radeon HD 4850. It bests the 9800 GTX in almost any game, while costing quite a bit less. Also, if it's for gaming, I would recommend the E8400 over the Q6600, as games can't yet take hold of quad-core processors, so a faster two > a slower four. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115037

Go for the OEM version of that CPU if you're getting an aftermarket cooler, save a few bucks.

If you're not going to overclock, then get the retail processor and use the heatsink that comes with it.
If you plan on overclocking, and know the risks, then get the oem processor and the aftermarket heatsink. |

Doesn't look like any of the Intel Duos do, actually. Oh well. Does the OEM version even come with a sticker? That in itself is worth at least $10

Sure? My Q6600 sticker was on the back of the intel booklet inside the box, I think.

Might want to look at this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115036 Once again, you don't need the extra heatsink unless overclocking. Great deal on the psu. Your link for the mb points to the case. (look around for that case. It's always on sale somewhere.) |

I would get a 4870 with a game like GRID included ($40) and about a $20 rebate putting only a little higher priced than the 4850. Also you might want to look into the 4850 1g edition.

I wouldn't bother with the 1GB edition of the 4850. It will make nearly no difference at that resolution (1680x1050).
The 4870 is a good card for sure, but even after a rebate (the 4850s have rebates too) it's $100-115 more. Some people just don't need that performance or don't have the money to spend on a $285 card. |
