Case Comparison

hello everyone
i am making a new gaming computer and i couldn't decide which case to get...this could be due to the fact that this is my first build

after looking around, i came up with 2 cases that i would like to get

NZXT TEMPEST Crafted Series CS-NT-TEM-B Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811146047

or

Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811129021

any tips/advice would be nice (as well as advantages/disadvantages)
also, i was wondering if these cases are any good, or should i find a different case...

The Antec 900 is a proven performer and a very popular gaming case.

Don't really know much about NZXT cases. It looks like the NZXT Tempest is a copy of the Antec 900.

Between the two, I'd get the Antec.

They look about the same.

I have a antec 900 now, and must say it's nice. Wire Management is a problem though. It also gets quite dusty inside.

anyone have a NZXT Tempest and have anything to say?
also for the antec 900, there are different fan speeds? do you really have to open your case to change them or something? or is it possible to make it so that it's automatic?

You will need to open the case to change the fan speed, but once you set it, I don't really see a reason to go back in and change it.

Most set it to low, or medium.

Get dust filters. Those two 120mm front fans are going turn your system into an air filter.

My case had a dust filter on the front 120mm fan, I took it out because it got clogged really fast and stopped the air flow.

if you get dust filters, and they get clogged
can't you just clean them and put them back?

Sure, but it gets tiring real fast.

at the front of the cases, the NZXT Tempest has an e-SATA....
while the Antec 900 has a firewire port?
why do you need external e-sata?

e-SATA is probably the best interface for external hard drives. I may be wrong, but I thought the 900 also has e-SATA.

on newegg, it says
"Front Ports: Power & reset button with blue LED
2 x USB 2.0
1 x IEEE 1394 (FireWire, i.Link)
Audio In and Out"

i've been looking at reviews and comparisons of these 2 cases and seems like overall, people like the antec 900
they say the Tempest has too much plastic and the quality isn't very good

Antec 900 has no e-SATAs, but most motherboards have a few nowadays.

I don't think e-SATA is much to choose by, hardly any motherboard have them. If you need it you can always add a PCI card.
