Error Message Please Help!!!!!
so my friend is doing a new build for me...he has everything hooked up...but when he boots up we get this error message: "USB Device over current status detected" we dont know what that means or whats wrong. anyone know what might be the cause? any help is appreciated

List all parts. Make and model.
Also, do you have windows completely installed? Do you have any usb items plugged in?

i cant get the list yet...will post tonight or tommorow....i do know we dont have windows installed...its a brand new build...so new hard drive and what not...i assume hes waiting for whatever to pop up before putting in the windows cd to load onto the hard drive...also...there are no usb devices plugged in

ok heres the list:
Motherboard: Asus P5Q Pro LGA 775 Intel P45 CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 PSU-Antec EA650 650W RAM-Patriot Viper 4GB DDR2 1200 Hard Drive: Seagate SATA 320 GB DVD Drive: Lite-On black SATA Video card: not to sure...mine wouldnt fit...using it from my previoud build...it has tv capabilities or something and because of that it extends longer on one end and it doesnt allow my buddy to screw down the mobo cuz its in the way or something... Case:RAIDMAX SMILODON Extreme Black ATX-612WEBP 500W power supply included...long story about the 2 power supplies..i can use either one...prob go with antec actually...but i think thats about it does this help? |

First I would try to unplug the power supply and pull the mother board battery out for about 5 minutes. Then oput it back and try again.
If that doesn't work, then try an out of case build with just the bare minimum. : PROBLEMS with a NEW BUILD? Try This!! (Side Note: Be patient. People will respond. This is a messasge board, and people come and go all the time.) |
