RMA to Newegg or Asus??

I bought an Asus mobo from Newegg and it's defective. I called Asus to confirm that it was defective and they ended up giving me an rma letter, should I go with that? Or should I RMA to Newegg?

Work directly with Asus. It will be faster than going thru Newegg unless Newegg tells you they would replace it. They will if it's an out of box failure of less than 30 days old.

Newegg will be much faster. make sure you call and don't do it over the internet or you will get a 15% restocking fee and have to pay for shipping back to newegg, over the phone no restocking fee and they give you a shipping label.

I respectfully disagree. I've always used the web system for rma's to Newegg and if it's covered under warranty, their is no restocking fee involved. The only way Newegg would be faster is if they will replace the mobo. Otherwise, they would send it off to Asus for repair anyway. Cut out the middle man if it's over 30 days old.

Asus says they'll get it back to me (working or not) withing ten business days, so if for some reason they reject I think I would still have time to send it off to newegg. So, I guess I'll go with Asus, I just, however, I'm pretty sure they'll replace it. Thanks for your advice.

I was told by the newegg staff that the online rma process auto charges you a restocking fee and does not send you a shipment label, that can only be done over the phone.

sorry about that off topic stuff.

I assumed that he was asking what was faster because it was still within the 30 day time limit, if it is newegg will be much faster
