Home built computer help

So, I decided to buy a new computer game but after looking at them, at Best Buy, I realized that my laptop couldn't play, really, any of the games there. I knew that I couldn't get a new computer, so dad suggested for me to build my own computer. So I did some research and educated myself on computer technical speak, what I needed and where to look for my parts.
Yesterday, dad said that you might be able to help me.
I don't want to waste my money, so I was wondering if you could tell me if there are any flaws in my parts that I choose, mainly compatibility problems.
I was also wondering if you knew of any other places / websites to buy parts. To date, I have been using newegg.com, I also looked at tigerdirect.com but found that newegg sold the same parts, cheaper. I have a very tight budget, only about 400 dollars, and cheaper is always better (as long as the part works, consistently).

So here are the parts I choose and the links to their respective information.

Motherboard - ASUS M2A-VM AM2 AMD 690G Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131172

CPU - AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ Brisbane 2.5GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM2 65W Dual-Core Processor
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103212

Memory - G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231098

Video Card - EVGA 256-P2-N733-LR GeForce 8400 GS 256MB 64-bit GDDR2 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready Video Card - Retail
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130316

Sound Card - On Motherboard

Power Supply - On Case

Case - APEVIA X-QPACK2-CM/500 Black/Camouflager Aluminum Body/ Front Mask MicroATX Desktop Computer Case 500W w/120m UV Blue Fan Power Supply
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811144146

Hard Drive - Western Digital Caviar SE WD1600AAJS 160GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136075

CD-ROM Drive - LITE-ON Black 52X CD-ROM SATA CD-ROM Drive Model LTN-52S1S-10
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827106038

I think that's all the parts I need.
I'm definitely looking to save money where I can and I don't care as much for sound as I do for graphics. So I thought that a sound card on my motherboard would suffice.
I know that my case might look to extravagant for my budget but I found that, with the on board power supply, it was cheaper than buying them separate. My information sources (a tutorial from the web) said that a 500 watt, or volt??, power supply would be enough but I just want to make sure that that is a reasonable amount.
I am building this computer to play games, not the best, newest games but a reasonable number of good games.
I also have upgrade ability in mind; I don't want my motherboard to hold me back from upgrading when I can just choose a different one right now.
So it would be nice if you could just point out any flaws, cheap improvements, compatibility problems, or simple upgrade ability changes, to make sure I am on the right track.
Thank you.

The power supply that comes with that case is not good.

Look at this combo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811129024

I don't know amd processors or motherboards, so I'll leave that to others.

And that video card isn't going to cut it for gaming. You would need to get something better.

$400 is a low budget for a build, especially a gaming build. If you could probably get a fewhundred more then it would be a lot more doable.

Do you have monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers, and operating system?

This is probably the lowest I would go for a gaming build video card:

As far as I know an ATX case will fit atx motherboards and micro atx motherboards.

Yes most of the time a Micro ATX motherboard will work with an ATX case.... but not the other way around.

Why isint my power source good?

Apevia brand power supplies are known to not provide good power. They fail under load, and can destroy other parts when they die.

Here is our list of power supplies: What Power Supply should I get? How many Watts? Who made it? Guide Inside
