16GB (4 x 4GB) Desktop Memory
i tried to search this out but could not find the answer, sorry if this is a repeat. in my build i have the possibility for 16gb of ram i would love that much because i am a graphic artist and comic book artist. sometimes my photoshop layers go as high as 20 sum layers on huge files. and i am running Illustrator and other adobe products at the same time. also i work on digital special fx that need to be rendered. so my question is is it posable to have this much ram because i have seen posts that say 4gb wont be recognized?

In order to utilize more than ~3GB RAM, you must use a 64-bit operating system.
Wow, that's a lot of money. I don't know if even your biggest projects could ever take advantage of 16GB RAM. |

I'd find out from Adobe whether their apps will run nicely in a 64-bit environment.

Adobe programs love 64-bit because they have more memory addresses to work with. Yes, a 64-bit OS will recognize all of your memory without any "side-effects"
