Welcome to PCMech. Here is a list to get you started:
Motherboard: Asus P5Q Pro CPU: Intel E8400 RAM: 4GB DDR2-800 Corsair Brand Video Card: ATI/AMD Radeon HD4870 Hard Drive: 500GB Seagate 7200.11 Power Supply: Corsair 650watt Optical: LiteOn DVDRW with Software, SATA Tower: Any ATX you like As for the extras, I'd look at Samsung 22" monitors, Logitech Speakers and Sennheiser headsets.

I was looking at the possibility of overclocking the CPU, is there anything you'd change in your recommendations based on that? Is there a specific type of heatsink I should look into? A friend of mine recommended the Thermalright IFX-14 Inferno Fire eXtinguisher heatsink, is it any good?
I was looking at the possibility of getting a 24" LCD, are BenQ brand any good? |

Take a look in the "Case Modding and Cooling" forum for heatsink recommendations. I haven't read about the IFX-14, but Thermalright has plenty of popular heatsinks, such as Chuck's recommendation above. You may want to look at Zalman products, such as the CNPS9700 and the Arctic Freezer Pro. Just for a bit of variety.
As for the monitor, yes BenQ monitors are good. |
