What parts do you recommend

I want to build my own computer or have someone assemble it for me. I am new at this so bear with me.

I am very frustrated with our current computer in that it is very unreliable and very slow. Also it often freezes up.

I want the most reliable and fastest computer I can get.

I need a large hard drive because we have a lot of photographs and we write books on the computer.

I have a preference for Asus motherboards.

I am willing to spend $1000 -$1300 for the parts or more if necessary.

I already have a wired router, and wireless keyboard and mouse.

I sure would appreciate some help. Thank you.
