First time builder can't figure out problem

I am a first time builder and hope that this is easily answered by the people with more experience. I have put together all parts that I can using the instructions and what not. When I go to plug it in I do have power. All fans spin and all my leds are lit. But the problem is that there is no image coming onto my monitor. I am working with a regular monitor that has worked before for me.
my psu is a rosewill rx 630.

Have you tried this yet: PROBLEMS with a NEW BUILD? Try This!!

Make sure it's out of the case. That's important.

yea i did that and the power started and everything was detected(i decided that by looking at the leds that lit and compared it to the manual). however the monitor is still not booting up.. im pretty sure that the motherboard does not have its own graphics... so if the graphics card is not installed will the mobo be able to show it

You need to install the video card. You won't install any drivers or software till later though.

Ok, so with the bare essentials out of the case, you still don't get a picture?

Please tell us the rest of uyour parts. Make and model.

Do you have the ram in the corect slot?

Did you plug in both the 24 pin and 8 pin power supply to the motherboard?

i currently have my motherboard connected to my psu connected to my cpu with the sink fan installed and the video card inserted...

psu: rosewill x630
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817182149

mobo: msi p35
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813130141

cpu : core 2 duo e8400
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115037

card: sapphire 100236L
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102726

ram: corsair 240 pin
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145184

the ram is correct bc the mobo manual has the led lit to say it recognizes that its active. a similar led is lit saying the graphics card is there.. i connected the 24 pin.. and the 8 pin

If it's still not working, then you will have to try part substitution.

Do you have any spare, or extra parts you could try? Video card, and power supply being the main suspects.

Try the other stick of ram, but I doubt that would cause this problem.

im thinking its the graphics card bc power is distributed to everything.. i mean even the graphics cards fan is turning on.. so it cant really be the power supply.. and the mobo detects that there is something in each of the slots that have other pieces in it.. unfortunately i dont have any spare parts that would be equivilant substitutes.

Just because you have a light, doesn't mean it's working, or the power being supplied to it is good.

I would try to get another video card, and then another power supply.

You might be able to use the parts from a friends computer to just check.

so i tried again and now whats happening is when the power turns on and its out of the box something happens I just dont no if its what i need to happen. As soon as i turn power on my monitor goes from no signal input or cable disconnected to being blank. after a moment of running the monitor outputs the "no signal input" sign again. Should I continue... I checked my powersupply and it worked on another computer of mine.. but i have no way to check my graphics card.

If you have another monitor I would try that too. Or try the current monitor on another computer. They do fail ... I just had to RMA a 2-year old Viewsonic LCD that exhibited the same thing you describe ("no signal" message).

Send a message via AIM to Alaron
At this point, the motherboard is the likely culprit. I would RMA it for a replacement from Newegg.

Only other thing I would try to do, try pushing the input or source button on your monitor.

If that doesn't work, then I agree with Alaron, and would RMA the mb.
