new config, about to buy

Can u guys chime in on this config for me? I have already checked to make sure components are compatible with each other and for the most part the only problem i maybe have i beleive is the spacing of the graphics cards cuz the cards seem to be huge. I want to replace my old config with this which i will use mostly for multimedia and gaming. Im a 2nd time builder my last build was 3years which im currently writing to u all on.

Get ddr2-800 instead unless you plan on overclocking.

Also, it makes no sense to crossfire those card. Just get a single 4870 instead.

What cpu?

What psu?

Not a fan of samsung drives. Look at the seagate 7200.11 500gb sata drives.

Don't forget the dvd drive either. Lite-on or asus would be my recommendations. Sata and retail.

ddr800 and 4870 card eh? ok ill look into that. and the reason i picked the others were to keep them somewhat forward looking. i plan on holding on to this new rig for a good long while without having to upgrade it much.

the 4870 seems out of my price range and i liked the other first choice (saphires 3850) due to their "silent" performance, price for both, and reviews.

Have any alternative pick for card that is is dependable, powerful (be it crossfire or sli ready) that is under $200? for one or combined under 250 for 2?

thanks i really appreciate the help in this

Though I would try to put a little more towards this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814121258

Also, unless you plan on overclocking, you don't need the aftermarket heatsink.

The 4870s may fall into your price range within the next week or two (<$270, at least...less than 250 with rebates).

I was thinking aftermarket heatsink mostly to keep the pc "quiet". I figure aftermarket would be queiter than stock?
